Electricity based fuels are subject of many discussions within industry, research, politics and society. The book “Powerfuels, Status and Prospects” aims at a holistic overview of the production and application of eFuels, thereby it provides a standard reference book related to this emerging field. Bauhaus Luftfahrt contributed two chapters to the collected edition of manuscripts from various experts.

- The chapter “Power-To-Liquid (PTL) Kerosene and Opportunities to Introduce Green Hydrogen in Aviation” discusses the application and use of efuels in aviation. Basic characteristics of power-to-liquid pathways for kerosene synthesis are reviewed. Furthermore, alternative use cases for green hydrogen in aviation are discussed.

- The chapter “Direct Air Capture” discusses the provision of atmospheric CO2 as a ubiquitous and scalable carbon supply option. General principles of direct air capture are introduced, an overview on different technological approaches and current research directions, as well as a brief discussion on cost perspectives is provided.
